Fabletics Reviews: An Unsponsored Review

November 15, 2024 · In: Fitness, Workout Clothes

Here is my unsponsored Fabletics review from a 10 year customer. Looking for high-quality activewear that is both stylish and affordable? Yes me too, so here is my unsponsored and very honest look into the active wear brand Fabletics.

I am currently on a mission to help you (and selfishly myself) discover the best activewear brands and stylish workout clothes for the 40+ woman.

@emmacolseynicholls

Best Midlife & Midsize Workout Clothes for women over 40 Starting out with a mini haul of @Fabletics Fabletics have been one of my favourite brands for years. I shared the full Fabletics review over on my YouTube channel, the link is in my profile But on this mission which brand should i test out next?? #fitnessover40 #workoutclothes #workoutclotheshaul #activewearhaul #activewearfashion

Fabletics is a brand that has been making waves in the fitness fashion industry with links and collaborations from several celebrities over the years from their early launch with Kate Hudson who is now also part owner. To more recent collaborations with Khloe Kardashian and their Yitty range which is a collaboration with plus size star Lizzo.

It does offer a somewhat unique subscription model, that certainly doesn’t sit well with those who have felt tripped up or duped by it. And let’s be honest, no one really needs to be buying new activewear every single month, or at least that’s what my husband keeps on telling me

Yet, this brand does offer a wide range of trendy workout gear at affordable prices keeping up to date with trends and has regular/monthly new design drops.

In this article, I will take an in-depth look at Fabletics and unveil the secrets behind the brand, it’s clothing and to see if it’s worth the hype and give you my honest Fabletics reviews. I will cover the quality and durability of their clothing, the effectiveness of their subscription model, and how they stack up against competitors.

This forms a part of full list I’m compiling of ‘The Best Workout Clothes For Older Women’ which you can link back to all of the other brand reviews HERE.

With hundreds of Fabletics reviews out there, it’s important to separate fact from fiction as many reviews may well have been sponsored. This article is not sponsored I do use affiliate links. This means I may make a small comission should you choose to buy using my links as this really supports my work. But this this is my personal opinion and taste, and I will only ever share the things that I truly love.

So, if you’re curious to see if Fabletics lives up to the hype, join me as I delve into the truth about this popular activewear brand. Get ready to make an informed decision before you hit that “add to cart” button.

What sets Fabletics apart from other activewear brands?

Fabletics has carved a niche in the activewear market through its unique blend of style, durability and affordability. It’s this combination that has had me as a regular customer since around 2015. Yes that’s around 10 years of being a Fabletics customer and this brand takes up around 90% of my workout clothes.

fabletics reviews

Above is me in one of my many Fabletics outfits, I have always loved their range of colours and designs. They also now have sleepwear and swimwear too. As well as a really good selection of mens items too. They are constantly expanding their ranges and lines.

As a fitness coach I practically live in my fitness clothes and this has been my number one brand for a long time now. I love the designs, the fit and I can hand on my heart say that the items last. I have at least one pair of leggings that are over 8 years old. Many others I have only got rid of as my body size has changed over time and I have needed to size up a little now. It’s only over the last year or so that I have lost a little love with this brand and the main reason for that is that their tops these days all seem to be cropped.

I get that is the fashion at the moment, but as someone who is a little thicker around the waist, I do not want my belly on show and I would like to see more longer line versions of the same tops.

This is the main reason I recently cancelled my VIP membership. Plus I was also finding that the packs were not as good as they used to be. You used to be able to get a top and a pair of leggings for a credit. Now it only seems to be leggings and a sports bra, so it’s not quite so good of a deal. I am also finding that my sizes are out of stock within seconds of a launch.

Fabletics VIP Membership

When you sign up for Fabletics, you can opt to become a VIP member, which is meant to give you access to exclusive discounts and personalized outfit recommendations. Each month, you will then receive a selection of activewear based on their preferences as well as giving you first access before the designs are released to a wider audience.

You can CLICK HERE and get their offer of 2 sets of leggings for £24 which is an amazing deal and I whole heartedly believe that their leggings are worth every penny as they will last you for years. BUT please note that with this offer you will be signing up to their subscription model.

Members are charged a monthly fee (£59/€ $), which can be used as a credit towards their purchases. If a member does not wish to make a purchase in a given month, you have the option to skip the month before the 5th of the month, to any charges.

This in it’s self can be annoying. I have been caught out many times, forgetting to skip. As a fitness coach I can always justify new workout clothes as you don’t lose the money, it will sit on your account as a credit. But for the every day person this is just an annoyance that just isn’t necessary in my opinion.

Fabletics sizing and fit guide

Another aspect that sets Fabletics apart is its commitment to inclusivity. The brand offers a wide range of sizes, accommodating various body types. Sizes range from a xxs to 4XL.

This commitment to diversity is reflected in their marketing campaigns, which feature models of different shapes, sizes. I appreciate brands that support body positivity and inclusivity. I feel this is really what helps Fabletics to resonate with a broader audience. Everyone deserves to be able to find stylish activewear that fits them well and that they feel good in.

Fabletics provides detailed measurements for each item on the website, including chest, waist, and hip measurements. This transparency really helps to make informed decisions, ensuring they choose sizes that are right for their body.

Moreover, Fabletics features specific fit guides for different types of activewear, such as leggings, sports bras, and tops. For instance, leggings may have varying levels of compression and rise options or leg length, allowing customers to choose based on their preferences for support and comfort. Similarly, sports bras are categorized by impact levels, meaning you can find the right fit for their workout intensity. I really like the level of detail that they go into in this.

I really feel that Fabletics places a strong emphasis on fashion-forward designs. Fabletics strikes a balance between functionality over style. The brand consistently releases trendy collections that feature vibrant colors, unique patterns, and modern cuts. This focus on aesthetics means that when I am wearing fabletics I not only feel comfortable while working out but I feel good in their clothes too which is why Fablectics has been my number one all of these years.

Fabletics reviews: Pros and cons of the brand

When it comes to Fabletics, customer reviews reveal a mix of positive and negative experiences. One of the most frequently mentioned pros is the quality of the activewear. Like I said above I have always been really impressed with the quality. I find that the seams, stitching and fabrics last and wash really well. Leggings are always squat proof which is super important to me personally as a coach when I am demonstrating moves I do not want my knicker line on show.

They use moisture-wicking materials that are so  soft, stretchy designs, and the workout gear stands up to rigorous and regular use while feeling great on the skin.

Another advantage noted by many reviewers is the vast selection of styles and sizes available. Fabletics consistently releases new collections that are released each month with new and eye catching designs.

I also really appreciate the designs that allow me to transition seamlessly from the gym to nipping out to the shops or doing the school run. The items feel versatile and I feel good when I am wearing fabletics.

When it comes to the cons, the biggest complaint that I see is the subscription model. Many people have expressed frustration with the automatic charge if they forget to skip a month, leading to unwanted purchases.

Fabletics pricing and affordability

Fabletics has positioned itself as an affordable option in the activewear market, but I have seen the prices significantly creep up over the last few years. The brand’s pricing strategy is particularly attractive for those who want high-quality activewear without breaking the bank. With regular prices for leggings often ranging from $/£49 to $/£69, Fabletics frequently offers promotions that can reduce the cost significantly for VIP members.

For instance I actually got the items in my above haul for free, well almost. I had a credit outstanding and then they sent me a €20 voucher as part of an offer whilst also offering 2 leggings for €20. So of course I had already paid for the credit but I actually got 2 sets of leggings for free. So it’s good to watch out for offers as they always seem to be offering 70% off these days.

Conclusion: Is Fabletics worth the hype?

Ultimately, I am a Fabletics fan for their quality, durability, style and affordability of the items they do tick all of the boxes for me. I think they are worth the hype. It’s just the subscription model that you do have to keep an eye on.

They have always offered exceptional customer service, they run exellent value offers and I also really love that they are also eco conscious. They claim they are 100% exploitation free, their packaging is carbon neutral and pride themselves on being and ethical company.

I genuinely love this brand and their activewear and it’s the reason Fabletics have been my number one for many years

UPDATE***

Having just repurchased as they hooked me in with one of their 80% off deals and some items that I really liked the look of. Though I have to say I was pretty dissapointed with the quality of a few of the items which I share in the unboxing and try on video’s below.

I did really like the mens shorts and I am getting those in the next size up, but the others were just not hitting it for me this time around, which is a shame as the designs are nice but I really don’t think the quality is anywhere near as good as what I have had in the past.

Fabletics haul and review as I continue on my mission to find the best activewear for us slightly older women. I’m talking the 40 + woman that doesn’t want crop tops or bum scrunches!!! Iv actually always been a big fan of Fabletics but I gotta say, some of the quality on their latest stuff in this haul is not what it used to be!!!! 😱 What is your favourite activewear brand?? Who should i be switching to or trying next? #activewearhaul #activewearfashion #workoutclothes #fitnessover40 #fitover40

Midlife Mid Size Fabletics workout dress and workout skort try on review I have to be honest, the quality of these is not what I usually expect from Fabletics and I’m a little disappointed. But then when can you expect when they market it as being 80% off original price. I certainly wouldn’t be paying the full price that’s for sure The men’s shorts for my son are a keep and I am going to hang onto the skits. But the top and dress is a massive no #fitover40 #activewearhaul #activewearforwomen #activewearfashion

People can be quick to dismiss group workouts. “Y People can be quick to dismiss group workouts.

“You’d get better results following a gym programme.”
“You spend too much time chatting.”
“You could lift heavier in the gym.”

And maybe sometimes that’s true.

But for so many women, working out is about FAR more than squeezing every last percentage out of a training session.

It’s the people who notice when you haven’t been there for a while.

The five-minute catch-up that somehow turns into your entire life story.

The laughing, moaning and collective “WTF is this?” when I explain the next exercise. 😂

It’s getting out of the house. Having some time for YOU. Feeling part of something. And actually looking forward to exercising because you know who’s going to be there.

And THAT is often what keeps you consistent for years.

So yes, train for strength. Train for your health. Train because you want results.

But never underestimate the value of finding a way to exercise that gives you people, connection and a reason to keep showing up too. ❤️

Not every workout is supposed to feel amazing. I Not every workout is supposed to feel amazing.

I recently heard Dr Stacy Sims talking about the “law of thirds” and it’s such a good reminder:

Roughly a third of your workouts will feel great.
A third will feel hard.
And a third might feel like complete 💩.

And that doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.

Some days you need to push through the discomfort — because those harder sessions can be the ones that move you forward.

Other days, the smartest thing you can do is rest.

And on the days you’re not sure? Start the warm-up.

Give yourself 10 minutes and see what happens. Sometimes your body wakes up and you end up having a great session. Sometimes it becomes very clear that today isn’t the day.

The skill is learning to know the difference.

But most importantly, stop expecting every workout to feel good.

Consistency isn’t built from perfect workouts. It’s built from showing up, adapting and doing what your body needs that day.

I thought vibration plates were a gimmick until… I I thought vibration plates were a gimmick until… I actually started using one consistently. 😂

And no, I’m not claiming standing on a vibrating platform is magically going to melt fat or replace your workouts.

But what surprised me was how much I actually enjoy using it.

10 minutes while I’m having my morning coffee, after a workout, or at the end of the day and I genuinely feel less stiff, less puffy and weirdly calmer afterwards.

Is some of that placebo? Maybe. 🤷‍♀️
But there is some interesting research around vibration training, circulation, muscle activation and recovery — which is exactly why I decided to properly test one rather than immediately dismiss it as another wellness gimmick.

And months later… I’m still using it.

Sometimes the things you roll your eyes at end up earning a permanent place in your routine. 😂

Would you try a vibration plate — or are you still firmly in the gimmick camp? 👇

There’s a difference between listening to your bod There’s a difference between listening to your body and never asking it to do hard things.

As women 40+, we hear a LOT about reducing stress, prioritising recovery and not overdoing it.

And yes — all of that matters.

But I don’t want the message to become “take it easy because you’re getting older.”

I still want to lift heavy, challenge my fitness and occasionally push myself into that uncomfortable place where I have to dig a little deeper.

This session — heavy legs, higher-rep contrast work and then a compromised run — absolutely annihilated me. 😂 Would I train like this every day? Definitely not.

But we can recover well and train hard.
We can listen to our bodies and ask more of them.

Getting older doesn’t mean we stop challenging ourselves. 💪

GLP1’s are a powerful tool for weight loss, but it GLP1’s are a powerful tool for weight loss, but it’s not the full story to just eat less. In fact that’s probably the biggest mistake I see people making.

I truly believe there is a ‘right way’ to approach the use of these medications as a tool to support your goals. And if you actually want to keep the weight off then doing it right, matters. It matters for your result and your long term health.

If you are starting out on your GLP1 journey and want to do it the right way, iv put a guide together to help you do just that.

If you want it put guide in the comments or send me a dm and I’ll send it over.

I could do chin-ups before I lost the weight. I w I could do chin-ups before I lost the weight.

I was strong then. 💪

But THIS is one of the biggest differences I’ve noticed since losing 2 stone.

Everything just feels… better.

I’m lighter, but I feel stronger.

I move better. I feel fitter. More athletic. More capable.

And now I’m adding the weight BACK ON… just this time in the form of a weighted vest. 😂

That’s something I really wanted to get right during my weight loss.

I didn’t want the number on the scales to come down at the expense of my strength and muscle.

So throughout my GLP-1 journey, strength training has remained a priority, alongside eating enough protein and keeping the weight loss steady rather than trying to lose as much as possible, as quickly as possible.

Because for me, the goal was never just to take up less space.

I wanted to be able to DO more with my body.

And honestly, that’s probably been one of my favourite parts of this entire transformation.

Lighter. Stronger. More athletic.

Now let’s see how heavy I can make this vest… 👀😂
You don’t need to be motivated. You need to rememb You don’t need to be motivated. You need to remember how much better life feels when you feel strong, fit and capable.

For me, losing weight has absolutely been part of that.

I move better now. Everything feels easier. Running, hiking, lifting, snowboarding, getting up off the floor… there’s simply less of me to move around.

But weighing less was never the end goal.

The real goal is what it allows me to DO.

Because when you feel fit, strong and capable, you get to experience life at a completely different level of participation.

You don’t have to sit on the sidelines and watch other people do things.

You can join in.

You can say yes to the hike. Yes to trying something new. Yes to running around with your kids. Yes to the adventure. Yes to the things that might once have felt too hard, too tiring or simply not for you.

And that, for me, is one of the biggest reasons to keep working on my fitness.

I want muscle. I want strength. I want mobility. I want energy. I want a body that allows me to participate fully in my own life for as long as possible.

Fitness isn’t just about what you look like.

It’s about what your body allows you to experience.

And I don’t want to watch life from the sidelines. I want to be right in the middle of it. ❤️

The before & after photos show the physical change The before & after photos show the physical changes…

But they don’t show the part that matters most.

Before, I felt heavy.
Not just physically… mentally too.

I was constantly tired.
My energy crashed every afternoon.
Everything felt harder than it should have.

Yes, I wanted to lose weight.

But more than that, I wanted to stop feeling like shit all the time.

Now?

I feel lighter.
Stronger.
Fitter.
More energy.
Regain confidence.

And honestly… a little bit unstoppable.

For me, GLP-1 wasn’t the whole answer. It gave me the opportunity to actually stick to the habits I know work. It shut off the food noise gave me the willpower to make better choices and remain focused

Strength training.
Prioritising protein.
Better sleep

Less alcohol
Dialling in health habits and better eating instead of just chasing a number on the scales.

The weight loss is amazing.

But getting my life back has been the real transformation.

If you’re on a similar journey, remember this…

Don’t just focus on the number you want to lose.

Focus on the habits you went the build and the woman you want to be.

❤️ Tell me… what change are you hoping for most?

12 weeks until I take on my first HYROX Solo… and today was my first run in 9 MONTHS.

The good news? I’m now 2 stone lighter and the run actually felt surprisingly good 🙌

The bad news? My heart rate would suggest otherwise 😂 What should have been an easy run had me sitting in Zone 4 and 5. Eeeeek.

So the goal over the next 12 weeks isn’t just to get HYROX fit. I want to build my aerobic fitness back up and get to the point where I can actually go out for an easy run and stay in Zone 2.
