9 Powerful Mid-Year Reflection Questions — Don’t Miss The Most Precious Thing There Is

Did you miss it??

We are into July this signifies that you made it halfway through the year!!

Yep, that’s right we are about to dip our toes into the second half of the year already.

I’m always amazed at how quickly time flies by and every time I write these words it’s my reminder to come back and remember to be present in the moment and indeed present in my life.

I’m a dreamer, always looking ahead and imagining the future and setting goals for what I want to come, but this is also my reminder to slow down and just be here in the present movement and day to day of life.

Because life is happening right here, right now, it’s there in the smallest of moments.

“Time isn’t precious at all, because it is an illusion. What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is out of time: the Now. That is precious indeed. The more you are focused on time — past and future — the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing there is.” ― Eckhart Tolle

So if you were to take a moment and consider.

Did you decide that this was the year that you would be working on you. Your health, your fitness, to feel better in your body?

How’s that been going??

I know it’s so easy to get off track, we all do it. 

But you know you can always trust me to come back in and remind you to come back to those goals if they are still important to you

How has this first half of the year been for you?

Use these 9 powerful questions to show you how to complete your mid-year reflection work in a way that can empower more action but also more presence and happiness in the second half of this year.

  1. When you recall on the goals that you set for yourself this year, are they still important to you?
  2. What progress have you made towards them?
  3. What are you feeling most proud of so far this year?
  4. What challenges have you encountered so far this year?
  5. What was the outcome?
  6. What did this teach you?
  7. When were the times that you have been most present?
  8. What are the things that brought you the most joy and happiness so far this year?
  9. What are those moments guiding you to do more of? What do you want to feel and do more of in the second half of this year?

Why Most People Fail

Many people fail to connect to what a goal really means to them, they fail to dig into the deeper reasons why they want something.

How that ‘thing’ aligns with your values, your deeper meaning and purpose. 

If you don’t have a powerful why that becomes your navigating north star, then sure you are going to be distracted by the next shiny thing.

And it’s even easier to get distracted when the thing you were working towards didn’t happen….like yesterday!!

That’s yet another flaw of human behaviour. Our need for instant gratification and the search of the constant dopamine hit, instead of practising patience for long-term satisfaction.

To actually find lessons and strength as you grow through the journey. It’s so freaking cheesy, but the joy is in the journey itself and never actually in the achievement of the goal.

Sure reaching that goal will feel good for the moment, but it’s being able to see and realise what it took to get you there that will last with you a lifetime.

So as you look ahead stop stressing about how fast you are advancing and instead take a moment to consider how you are showing up.

Are you showing up with focus, with a positive can-do attitude, are you keeping going no matter what challenges you face.

Are you happy with the person that you are showing up as?

Start the day deciding to show up as your highest and best self, then the goals tend to take care of themselves.

Now consider the following questions:

  • What do you still want to achieve this year and into the future?
  • Write out all of the goals that still feel aligned to your soul desires and re-connect with the reasons why.
  • What do you want to create?
  • What do you want to acquire?
  • What do you want to experience?
  • What do you want to learn?
  • What do you want to improve?
  • What do you want to maintain?

YOU ARE THE GREATEST PROJECT YOU WILL EVER WORK ON!!

That is work worth doing!!

It’s easy to forget all that you have experience It’s easy to forget all that you have experienced and all that you have achieved if you don’t take the time to look back and reflect

This year could have felt like a little bit of a nothing year but as a family we have been deep in the grind but I also get to appreciate that we still had a wonderful year that I’m so deeply grateful for. 

Reaching 10k subs on YouTube, my first major brand deal, coming back to pole, first hyrox, my kids getting sponsored by a snowboard brand and Clayton getting into team GB next generation squad. Getting to work with some wonderful clients. 

It’s been a challenging year but with it has come a lot of growth and I’m excited to keep going and keep growing in 2026

Before you rush into new goals… pause for a mome Before you rush into new goals… pause for a moment 🤍

I love the end of year to take a moment to slow down and reflect. 
Not to judge the year or beat yourself up about it, but to pull out some of the good stuff, but most of all understand it.

Some of the questions I always come back to are:

• What actually worked for me this year?
• What drained my energy more than I realised?
• Which habits genuinely improved my life?
• Where do I feel balanced — and where do I feel stretched thin?

Because here’s the thing…

Better goals don’t come from pressure.

They come from clarity.

I like to check in on my weight so I’m not going completely off the rails. 

It’s never about going off track but in how quickly you can bounce back and go again with the things that help you to feel good rather than just saying stuff it I’ll start again in January.

I read Mel Robins 5 second rule years ago and it’s one I have to constantly remind myself of. 

If you have the instinct to do something 5,4,3,2,1 get up and go do it before your brain talks you out of it. 

Be an action taker.

Some days you will miss it and some days you will smash it. 

But sometimes just giving it a go will make you feel better

Have a plan, try to stick with it but be compassionate with yourself if you also need flexibility.
