In this post I’ll be sharing my unsponsored and honest Spacegoods Review. If you’ve spent any time on social media recently, you’ve probably come across Spacegoods. Their adaptogen coffee, Rainbow Dust, seems to be everywhere, with influencers claiming it’s the secret to better focus, more energy and no caffeine crashes. They’ve also got Astro Dust, their evening hot chocolate that’s designed to support better sleep.
Like a lot of products in the wellness space, I was curious. But I also know how easy it is to get caught up in the hype.
As always, I like to spend my own money so that you don’t have to. I want to be able to give you a completely honest review and help you decide whether something is genuinely worth investing in or whether it’s just another expensive wellness trend.
This review is not sponsored. I bought these products myself because I wanted to see if they actually lived up to the claims. I do now have an affiliate link because I genuinely enjoy using them, but everything you’re reading here is based on my own experience after using them for several months. ** Note that an affiliate link just means I may make a small comission should you choose to use my link at no additional cost to you. And in fact with this one you will actually get 20% off your order and I really appreciate your support.

What Are Adaptogens?
Before we get into the products themselves, it’s worth talking about what adaptogens actually are because they’ve become incredibly popular over the last few years.
Adaptogens are natural compounds that are usually found in herbs, mushrooms and roots. They’re thought to help the body adapt to physical and mental stress.
Rather than acting like an artificial stimulant that simply gives you a quick hit of energy, the idea is that they support your body’s own stress response and help you feel more balanced.
Now, these aren’t anything new. Adaptogens have been used in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine for hundreds of years. What’s changed is that we’re now seeing them included in much more modern wellness products.
I think that’s because life feels busier than ever.
We’re all juggling work, families, responsibilities and constant notifications. Especially for women over 40, we’re often dealing with hormonal changes alongside everything else life throws at us. It’s no surprise that so many people are looking for ways to improve their energy, focus and resilience.
As a health coach, there are two things I’m always trying to optimise.
The first is energy.
The second is sleep.
Because the better I sleep, the more energy I naturally have the following day.
That’s exactly why these products caught my attention.
Why I Bought Spacegoods
I’d seen Spacegoods all over Instagram and YouTube for months.
Eventually I thought, right, I need to see for myself whether these products are actually any good.
Now something that might surprise you is that I’m actually quite new to drinking coffee.
I’ve only really started drinking it over the last couple of years. Before that I was much more of a matcha tea kind of girl.
I don’t actually drink coffee because I absolutely love the taste.
I drink it because I like what it does.
I like the increase in focus, the energy boost and I especially like using caffeine before my workouts. There’s plenty of research showing caffeine can improve exercise performance, so I often use it as a natural pre-workout.
The problem is that I’m also quite sensitive to caffeine.
If I have too much coffee, I become jittery and I can have quite a noticeable crash afterwards.
I also try very hard not to drink caffeine after midday because I know it affects my sleep.
So when I saw Rainbow Dust being marketed as a smoother alternative to regular coffee with added adaptogens, I was definitely intrigued. So purchased the Day & Nighter stater kit

Rainbow Dust Ingredients
The version I’ve been using is the Coffee flavour.

It contains:
- Instant coffee
- Peruvian maca root
- Chaga mushroom extract
- Cordyceps mushroom extract
- Ashwagandha
- Lion’s Mane mushroom
- Chicory root fibre
- Vitamin B5
The ingredients that immediately stood out to me were Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, Ashwagandha and Maca.
They’re probably four of the best-known ingredients when it comes to adaptogen blends.
Lion’s Mane
Lion’s Mane is probably the ingredient most people associate with brain health and focus.
The research is still fairly early, and we definitely need larger human studies, but there is some promising evidence looking at cognitive function, mental clarity and mood.
Like a lot of natural compounds, the challenge is that there simply isn’t as much funding available for research compared to pharmaceutical products.
That doesn’t mean they don’t work.
It simply means we need more high-quality research before making stronger conclusions.
Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha is probably the ingredient with the strongest evidence behind it.
Several human studies have shown improvements in perceived stress and reductions in cortisol levels, even at doses around 250 mg per day.
Some of the studies are relatively small, but the evidence is certainly encouraging, which is probably why we’re now seeing Ashwagandha included in so many wellness products.
Cordyceps & Maca
Cordyceps has become popular because of its potential role in supporting energy and exercise performance, while maca has traditionally been used to support energy, vitality and mood.
Looking at the formulation as a whole, I actually think Spacegoods have done a good job.
Rather than relying on one trendy ingredient, they’ve combined several ingredients that all have slightly different roles alongside caffeine.
My Experience Using Rainbow Dust
So my Spaegoods review on the Rainbow Dust product…..The biggest question is whether I actually noticed a difference.
For me, yes.
The thing I noticed most wasn’t that I suddenly had loads more energy.
It was that the energy felt smoother.
I still got that alert feeling I’d normally get from a coffee, but I didn’t get the same jitters or the big crash afterwards.
Because I’m quite sensitive to caffeine, that’s something I noticed almost immediately.
Taste-wise, I genuinely like it.
Now, I’m definitely not a coffee connoisseur. I actually asked one of my friends who’s been drinking coffee for years to try it because she’s much fussier than I am.
Her opinion was that it wouldn’t replace her normal morning coffee, but she’d happily drink it as a second coffee later in the day.
For me, I could quite happily replace regular coffee with it.
It has a slightly earthier flavour because of the mushrooms, but I actually enjoy that. I drink mine black, and I find it really easy to drink.
One thing I also like is using it before training.
It gives me that nice boost of focus without feeling overstimulated, and that’s exactly what I want before heading into a workout.
Now, do I think you need mushroom coffee to be healthy?
Absolutely not.
Your foundations will always matter more.
Getting enough protein, strength training, sleeping well, managing stress and eating a balanced diet will have a far bigger impact on your health than any single product ever will.
But if you’re already someone who enjoys coffee and you’re looking for a slightly more functional alternative, I genuinely think Rainbow Dust is a really nice upgrade.
My Spacegoods Review of Astro Dust
The other product I’ve been testing is Astro Dust, which is Spacegoods’ evening drink that’s designed to support relaxation and sleep.
As someone who talks a lot about sleep with my clients, this one appealed to me just as much as the coffee.
One of my biggest rules is no caffeine after midday. At the time of writing this I’m actually sat here drinking a peppermint tea because it’s the afternoon. I think having a caffeine-free evening routine is one of the simplest things you can do to improve your sleep.
I went for the chocolate flavour and, honestly, this has become one of my favourite ways to finish the day.
I tend to have it after my evening meal because that’s when my sweet tooth normally kicks in. Rather than reaching for chocolate or another snack, I’ll make myself a mug of Astro Dust. It tastes like a comforting hot chocolate, satisfies that craving for something sweet, and at the same time fits into my evening routine.
What’s Inside Astro Dust?

Looking at the ingredients, it contains:
- Cacao powder
- Glycine
- Magnesium citrate
- KSM-66 Ashwagandha
- L-Tryptophan
- Montmorency Cherry
- Chamomile
- Reishi mushroom
- Tremella mushroom
- Maitake mushroom
- Lemon Balm
When you look at that list, it makes sense as a wind-down formulation.
Glycine is one ingredient that has some promising human research showing it may help improve sleep quality.
Magnesium is another one that I’m already a big fan of. I’ve taken magnesium for years because I’ve personally found it really helps me sleep more deeply. On the evenings that I have Astro Dust, I generally don’t bother taking my usual magnesium because it’s already included.
Another ingredient I really like is L-Tryptophan.
One thing that always concerns me is seeing people taking melatonin supplements every night. Here in Europe you can buy melatonin over the counter, whereas in the UK it’s prescription only. Personally, I think we should be encouraging our bodies to produce melatonin naturally rather than relying on supplementing it long-term.
That’s why I like seeing L-Tryptophan included instead. It’s a precursor that your body can use to produce serotonin and melatonin naturally, supporting your own sleep hormones rather than simply replacing them.
Then you’ve got the more traditional calming ingredients like chamomile and lemon balm, alongside reishi and the other mushroom extracts, all of which fit nicely into the idea of creating an evening wind-down drink.
My Experience Using Astro Dust
To sum up the Spacegoods review of Astro Dust, honestly this is another product that I’ve genuinely enjoyed.
I don’t have it every single night, but probably a couple of times a week.
The first time I tried it, I honestly had one of the best nights’ sleep I’d had for quite a while.
More recently, the boys stayed up watching football in the middle of the night. Normally I wake up at the slightest noise. If the sun comes up, if someone walks around downstairs, I’m awake.
That night I slept straight through it.
I woke up feeling refreshed and well rested, without that groggy feeling that some sleep products can leave you with.
Now, was that entirely because of Astro Dust?
Who knows.
Sleep is influenced by so many different factors.
But I do think it plays an important role in creating a better evening routine.
For me, making the drink signals that the day is winding down. I’ll have it after dinner, then I’ll start putting my phone away, reduce my exposure to blue light and spend some time reading before bed.
That’s why I don’t think products like this should ever be viewed as a magic fix.
The drink isn’t doing all the work.
It’s part of a routine that’s supporting better sleep habits overall. CLICK HERE for my article on improving your sleep routine.
And I think that’s a much healthier way to look at products like this.
What About The Subscription?
One thing you do need to know before ordering is that Spacegoods operates on a subscription model to get the best price.
That’s becoming increasingly common with wellness brands, although I know it’s something not everybody likes.
Your first order usually comes as a starter kit with a metal measuring spoon, a handheld whisk and a travel cup.

I actually really like the spoon because it’s sturdy and makes measuring really easy.
The travel cup is useful if you’re heading straight out of the door in the morning, although if I’m being completely honest, once you’ve got one, I don’t really see the need for another one.
Personally, I’d rather have the products at a slightly cheaper price than receive another starter kit.
Because I don’t use Rainbow Dust or Astro Dust every single day, I also don’t necessarily want another delivery arriving every month.
I tend to rotate them.
Some mornings I’ll have Rainbow Dust.
Other mornings I’ll just have a regular coffee.
The same with Astro Dust. I’ll have it a couple of evenings a week when I fancy it or particularly feel like I need a little extra support with winding down.
For that reason, I’ll probably pause my subscription and reorder when I actually need more.
What About Their Electrolytes?
On my last order I also picked up a sample of their hydration salts.
I’ll be honest…
I haven’t actually tried them yet.

And that’s mainly because I think electrolytes are probably one of the most over-marketed supplements around at the moment.
Most people simply don’t need electrolytes every single day.
If you’re eating a balanced diet and salting your food, you’re probably getting what you need.
Where I do think they have their place is during really hot weather, long endurance events, races, long hikes or if you’re sweating heavily for prolonged periods.
That’s exactly what I’ll be saving mine for this summer.
So…Would I Recommend Spacegoods?
Yes.
I genuinely would.
I’ve now bought these products several times with my own money, and I think that says more than anything else.
Rainbow Dust has become a coffee that I genuinely enjoy drinking. I like the smoother energy, I like the focus it gives me, and I don’t experience the jitters or crashes that I sometimes get with regular coffee.
Astro Dust has become part of an evening routine that helps me switch off after a busy day. I love the chocolate flavour, it satisfies my sweet tooth after dinner, and I genuinely feel like I’ve had some fantastic nights’ sleep after using it.
Are they essential?
No.
Absolutely not.
If your nutrition isn’t in a good place, if you’re sleeping five hours a night, never exercising and constantly stressed, these products aren’t going to magically fix that.
The foundations always come first.
Good nutrition.
Strength training.
Regular movement.
Quality sleep.
Managing stress.
Those things will always have the biggest impact on your health.
But if you’re someone who already prioritises your health and you’re looking for products that can complement that lifestyle, then yes, I think Spacegoods has created some genuinely high-quality formulations.
I also like that they’re transparent with their ingredient dosages. Too many companies hide behind proprietary blends or only list ingredients per 100g rather than per serving. Spacegoods tells you exactly what you’re getting, and when I compared those doses with the available research, they generally sit within the amounts that have been studied.
The products also feel relatively clean. There aren’t lots of unnecessary fillers or artificial ingredients, which is always something I look for.
The only people I’d urge to be cautious are anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, has an autoimmune condition such as rheumatoid arthritis or Hashimoto’s, or is taking medication that could interact with some of these ingredients. If that’s you, I’d always recommend speaking with your healthcare professional before introducing adaptogenic supplements.
Finally, it’s worth remembering that everyone responds differently.
If you’re someone who drinks six cups of coffee a day, you may not notice the same difference that I did. Because I’m relatively sensitive to caffeine and only have one or two caffeinated drinks a day, I probably notice the effects more.
As with any wellness product, your own experience may be different.
My Final Verdict
Overall, I’ve been really impressed with Spacegoods.
I went into this review hoping to find out whether they lived up to the hype, and after several months of using both products, I genuinely think they do.
They’re not miracle products.
They’re not essential.
But they are thoughtfully formulated, enjoyable to use, and they’ve earned a place in my own routine.
And for me, that’s probably the biggest recommendation I can give.
If you’ve tried Spacegoods yourself, I’d love to hear what you thought. Did you notice the same smoother energy from Rainbow Dust? Did Astro Dust help your sleep? Let me know in the comments below.
And if you’re thinking about giving them a try, I’ve left my affiliate link and discount code below. As always, using my link doesn’t cost you anything extra, but it really does help support the work I do creating honest, evidence-based reviews like this. Thank you.
