Results After Just 30 Days Of Castor Oil
In this article I am going to be testing to see if Castor Oil really is the anti-aging secret we have all been missing out on.
I love me a TikTok trend, especially the all natural remedy claims. But I don’t like to just blindly follow what some 20 year old chick on the internet is telling me will work.
I like to go in test them out and figure out what actually does work for real people, and what is just BS so that I can share with you the things that do work and what is just going to be a waste of your time.
After the success of my Rosemary Oil experiment for hair regrowth which you can see in the article below if you missed that one and the impressive results it had on my PCOS related hair loss. I did note that there was a small amount of castor oil in the product that I used for that experiment too.

I was excited to test out the latest natural beauty product that everyone seems to be raving about right now.
I’v heard it being called everything from a miracle potion to natural botox, and as a woman who has tipped into the over 40 category I wouldn’t mind getting me some of that natural botox. Especially when it only costs around €23 for a 500ml bottle and I am always looking for natural ways for health and beauty.
Though castor oil has many supposed benefits (we will get into those shortly) I personally wanted to use it for a couple of key areas of concern.
- Dark circles under my eyes – These have been getting darker and baggier over the last couple of years no matter how much sleep I get. Plus the help with appearance of wrinkles couldn’t go a miss either.
- Dry Ageing skin – I have a small skin tag thats just kind of like a small dry patch on my leg that never seems to heal or go away. Don’t worry I have had it checked by the doctor and it wasn’t something that they were concerned about. Next was the super dry skin on the backs of my hands and the general condition of my skin all over my body. It’s been looking so dry, scaly and papery. Even my child said to me recently that whilst my face doesn’t look old, but my hands do. So yeah cheers kid.
- PCOS – With having PCOS I often suffer from a very bloated stomach. I do carry body fat mostly around my mid section, partly due to genetics, post having children and then this is also the hardest place to release fat from with the hormonal imbalance that PCOS contribute towards. Could it possibly make belly flatter and less bloated like the people on the internet keep claiming it will?
Castor Oil Benefits
So that is no end of articles shouting about the many benefits of castor oil. It literally seems to be this magical oil that seems to be able to fix everything.
Castor oil comes from castor beans of the castor plant (Ricinus communis) and contains a high concentration of ricinoleic acid, which is believed to be responsible for many of its benefits. Casor oil that seems to be so magical is that it has the power to be detoxifying, anti inflammatory, anti fungal and antioxidant properties. This is why it is showing to be so powerful for so many different ailments and conditions.
Of course, this goes without saying, I am not a medical doctor this is for informational purposes only, I am simply sharing my own research and also my own personal experience after using castor oil for the last 30 days.
You should always do your own research as well as seek professional medical advice, especially if you are on any type of medication before trying out anything new on yourself.
Benefits of Topical Application Of Castor Oil (On The Skin)
- Skin Moisturisation — Hydrates and nourishes the skin, making it softer and smoother. Helps to reduce skin dryness and flakiness. I’m literally using it daily and everywhere.
- Anti-inflammatory Effects — Reduces inflammation and can soothe irritated skin. Can help with conditions like psoriasis and eczema.
- Acne Treatment — Has antibacterial properties that may help combat acne-causing bacteria on acne-prone skin. Anti-inflammatory effects also help to reduce acne-related swelling and redness.
- Anti-aging Properties — Contains antioxidants that fight free radicals, potentially reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Promotes elastin and collagen production, which can help maintain the elasticity of the skin.
- Wound Healing — Accelerates wound healing by stimulating tissue growth and reducing dryness. The difference it has made to the mark on my leg (see below is insane)
- Scar Reduction — May help reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks over time.
- Hair Health — Moisturises the scalp and helps to reduce dandruff and is a common ingredient in many hair products. Can strengthen hair, reducing breakage and promoting hair growth. Enhances hair shine and smoothness, though it is very thick it has to be used more as a mask I feel.
- Joint Pain Relief — When applied as a massage oil, it may help reduce pain and inflammation in joints and has even show to help people living with chronic pain from conditions such as arthritis
- Lash and Brow Growth — Promotes the growth of thicker, healthier eyelashes and eyebrows. As someone who has to draw their eyebrows on daily I was super interested in this one.
- Lip Care — Acts as a natural lip balm, providing hydration and healing chapped lips.
The Power of Castor Oil for PCOS: Promoting Balance and Managing Symptoms Naturally
If you’re someone who struggles with PCOS, you know how frustrating it can be to manage the symptoms that come with it. From irregular periods, hormonal imbalances and stubborn weight gain this condition can really take a toll.
So if there are natural remedies that can help with the management of it, then I’m sure you too would want to know if it can work
Potential Benefits of Castor Oil for PCOS
- Anti-inflammatory Properties — Castor oil’s anti-inflammatory effects may help reduce systemic inflammation, which is often elevated in women with PCOS. This can potentially alleviate some of the symptoms associated with inflammation.
- Pain Relief — When applied topically as a warm castor oil pack, it may help reduce pelvic pain and discomfort associated with ovarian cysts.
- Improved Circulation — Castor oil packs are believed to improve blood circulation in the abdominal area, which may support ovarian and uterine health. Better circulation may help in reducing the size of cysts and improving menstrual regularity.
- Detoxification — Castor oil packs are sometimes used to support liver function and detoxification processes. A healthy liver can better metabolize hormones, which may help in balancing hormone levels in women with PCOS.
- Digestive Health — Oral use of castor oil as a laxative may help relieve constipation, a common issue for some women with PCOS. Improved digestion and regular bowel movements can also support overall detoxification, though this isn’t something I have personally tested out just yet.
- Stress Reduction — The application of castor oil packs can be a relaxing practice, which may help reduce stress levels. Stress management is crucial for managing PCOS symptoms, as stress can exacerbate hormonal imbalances and this has become one of my favourite practices.
So, as we can see there are many claims on the internet about the power of castor oil for both anti-ageing and more specifically for those of us who suffer with symptoms such as PCOS. Whilst there are main claims being made it must be said that there is very little scientific and direct evidence to support these claims. Often people only want to fund scientific research when they can make money from it. As you can’t patent a natural product it’s not quite as lucerative and hence there has been little research to support it’s use and many claims are simply anecdotal personal experience such as mine.
My Final Report The 30 Day Experiment
So I am now just over 30 days of using castor oil consistently. It’s not been every single day, but it’s been most days and I am officially a believer in the hype.
Dark Circles
My dark circles havn’t been removed completely, but they are far less puffy and the skin on my face in general feels lighter, firmer and the dark circles have significantly reduced with regular use. I have been applying most evenings to my whole face and then just under my eyes in the morning. Though I already have quite oily skin, I did find that the oil actually helps my skin particularly my forehead to be less oily. And I do feel the appearance of facial wrinkles has improved.
Though It wasn’t an area of focus, I also noticed that if I had a spot arrive on my face it would be practically gone again the next morning. I have even getting my son who it currently getting teenage spots starting to arrive to use it too and he has also noticed a difference.
Skin
The dry patch I had on my leg has practically disappeared. There is still an area where is looks slightly more red, but you can hardly tell where it even was.
The skin on my super dry hands is now feeling more supple, moisurised and just looks a million times better than it was. I have even been using it all over my skin as a moisturiser, though I do like to mix it in with another carrier oil such as coconut oil which is less thick and makes it easier to apply.
I have been telling all of my midlife friends about it, literally anyone that will listen as I am blown away. One friend who bought it at the same time as me has also noticed a significant difference on the skin on her face. We now know why they are calling it a natural botox!!
PCOS
Now this one is a little harder to measure. I haven’t had a drop in belly fat or waist circumferance like I have seen some people claiming. But my belly feels less bloated and wearing the castor oil pack is just really comforting when I feel like I am having a flair of pain.
Just this week I just couldn’t be bothered putting it on as I have been leaving the pack on overnight and sleeping in it. Whilst it’s comfortable to sleep in, it does make me hot having an extra layer around my belly. Any mid life woman knows we don’t want to feel hotter at night than we already do.
But the next day I was so bloated, my stomach was sore with cramps and my belly just felt huge all day.
So the next night I put it on again and the next day my stomach felt in less pain and the bloating disappeared.
So whilst not a miracle fix with the PCOS, I definitely felt it has helped to manage symptoms and pain.
So is castor oil the magic elixir that we have all been missing out on. Well it’s damn close and I will literally be using it for everything going forward and will test out what it does work on and what it doesn’t. It’s an all natural product, and a cheap alternative that I will be continuing to use as part of my midlife skincare routine. I have even been using less of my super expensive skin care products so making them last even longer too.
Next up will be to try it on my husbands manky, dry and cracked fungal toenail feet. They definitely are in need of a little TLC.
When choosing a pure castor oil product, you will want to choose a cold-pressed organic and hexane free oil that comes in a dark glass bottle. Always perform a patch test before application to check for any allergic reaction before hand.
CLICK HERE for the Castor oil that I used though i know the Queen Of The Thrones is another good and reputal brand too for those over in the US.
I feel like this one could of gone on a while, so if you have any questions let me know down in the comments.
