Fanka Leggings Review Part 2 — Updated Styles Tried & Tested

November 16, 2025 · In: Fitness, Nutrition Tips, Workout Clothes

It’s been a little while since my original Fanka Leggings Review, and since then, Fanka have released some new and updated designs — so of course, I had to try them!

I’ve been on a mission to find the best workout clothes for the older woman (I’m talking 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond) you can find my full list HERE, and Fanka continue to be one of my top choices for compression activewear that genuinely performs.

These items were gifted to me, and the link below is an affiliate link, which means I earn a small commission if you purchase through it — at no extra cost to you. You can also bag yourself 10% off with my code 10Emma !

1. The Body Sculpt Bra Tank – Chocolate Brown

Let’s start with the Body Sculpt Bra Tank — I got it in this gorgeous, rich chocolate brown, and straight out of the bag, it looked and felt high quality.

It has that signature four-way stretch fabric, removable cup pads, and a slightly longer band underneath for a more supportive feel. The straps are wide and comfortable — they don’t dig in at all — and the cut comes up higher under the arms, which I love because it means no side-boob spillage!

Compared to the original Body Sculpt Bra (which still remains one of my all-time most comfortable sports bras), this tank version feels firmer and more supportive, especially for higher-impact workouts like skipping or running.

The only downside for me personally is that the longer band does roll up slightly around my midsection — something that can happen if you have a shorter torso or carry more weight around the tummy. It’s not uncomfortable, but it’s something to note if you’re shaped like me.

If I were to repurchase, I’d probably go back to the original shorter Body Sculpt Bra — just because the fit suits my body better. But overall, the Tank is a fantastic upgrade in terms of support and lift.

2. Body Sculpt 7/8 Leggings – Chocolate Brown

I paired the tank with the matching Body Sculpt 7/8 Leggings, and honestly… these are even better than the originals.

Fanka have clearly listened to feedback and refined the design. The updated version has a slightly wider waistband with their 360° tummy-tuck support panel, and wow — you really can feel the difference.

When I pulled these on, it was one of those “where did my belly go?” moments. They snatch you in beautifully around the midsection while still allowing you to move comfortably.

They’ve kept the clever sculpting details that give support around the knees and a subtle lift to the bum, plus reinforced stitching and a double-layered waistband for durability and comfort.

One subtle change I noticed — the tummy panel is slightly deeper than before, which I measured and confirmed. That extra bit of coverage definitely helps the leggings stay up better during workouts.

The fabric feels softer and smoother, and I love the subtle tone-on-tone stripes on the brown pair. They’ve also added a few nice new touches:

  • A reflective stripe on the reverse side for visibility
  • A stitched hem instead of the cut-off seam on the older model
  • And the fact that they are reversible, so you can wear them inside-out for a plain look if you prefer

These leggings stay put, smooth everything out, and honestly make you feel amazing. They’re supportive around the knees, lower back, and tummy — perfect for women who like that feeling of being gently “held in” without feeling restricted.

💸 Don’t forget — you can grab 10% off your order with code 10Emma at checkout.

3. Power Band Leggings – Black

Next up, the Fanka Power Band Resistance Leggings review in black. These are designed to give extra core support and even a little added resistance to your workouts.

The first thing you’ll notice is the cross-panel design on the front, with sleek stripes that extend down the legs. Unlike the Body Sculpt leggings, which have angled seams, these have a straight stripe for a more streamlined look.

The bands are meant to act like built-in resistance, and you can genuinely feel a subtle difference — especially during more power-based workouts like sprints, plyo, or HIIT. They add just enough tension to make your legs work that little bit harder, but in a good way.

They have side pockets and are reversible, so you can wear them plain if you prefer a more minimal look.

In comparison to the Body Sculpt pair, I found these didn’t stay up quite as perfectly (the tummy support on those is unbeatable), but they’re still super comfortable and supportive — especially if you struggle with lower back pain or want a bit of extra core stability.

And again, the balance of compression and flexibility is spot on. Some compression leggings can feel like you’re stuffed into sausage casing — not these. They move beautifully with your body.

4. Power Band Long-Sleeved Top

Finally, the Power Band Long-Sleeved Top. I’ll be honest — as someone with a bigger midsection, I usually avoid tight tops. I just don’t like the clingy feeling across my belly.

But I wanted to test this one out, particularly as a base layer for when I’m snowboarding or running in colder weather — and I was so pleasantly surprised.

The material is buttery soft and beautifully stretchy, with subtle stripe detailing down the arms and across the back. It’s compressive but not restrictive, and it has posture support zones across the upper and lower back that make you naturally pull your shoulders back and engage your core.

I didn’t expect to like how it looked on me — but I actually felt really good in it. It smooths without squeezing, and it’s super flattering even if you’re not confident about your tummy area.

It’s a perfect layering piece, especially for outdoor workouts or ski trips, but if you like a fitted top for gym sessions, this one feels incredible.

Final Thoughts

Fanka have clearly been listening to their customers — the fit, fabrics, and finishes have all been upgraded.

Their new designs feel smarter, more supportive, and more flattering than ever before. The materials are softer yet still hold everything in, the seams are smoother, and the details — like reflective stripes, reversible wear, and pockets — make them so versatile.

If you’re a woman over 40 looking for high-quality compression activewear that sculpts, supports, and actually makes you feel confident, Fanka is 100% worth checking out.

They’ve become my go-to leggings — not only for workouts but also as base layers for snowboarding and mountain life here in the Alps.

Skipping isn’t just cardio, it’s longevity tra Skipping isn’t just cardio, it’s longevity training and an important skill we often lose as we age.

When was the last time you jumped?? Jumping helps keep your muscles springy, your calves and Achilles strong, and your reflexes sharp, all key for balance and resilience in midlife.

It also boosts lymphatic flow, supports digestion, and builds explosive strength to help reduce your risk of falling.

Never underestimate the power of a simple skip or any jumping work. Don’t skip it if you want to age well.

Iv heard a lot lately of people taking melatonin t Iv heard a lot lately of people taking melatonin to help with sleep. But the studies tell us it should not be taken lightly. Supplementing with melatonin can cause a down regulation of your natural production

So instead of slapping another supplement on it. We need to look at addressing the reasons behind poor sleep. And I know sometimes, espiecially in midlife that can be more complex reasons such as hormones or overheating at night.

I always suggest a sleep routine and supplementing with magnesium as a first port of call. There are a kit of habits that can support improved sleep but they can take a little discipline to practice, especially when it comes to limiting devices at night

How I’m growing stronger daily in midlife — an How I’m growing stronger daily in midlife — and how you can too

Strong isn’t just about lifting weights — it’s about building the daily habits that support your body and your mindset.

Here are 7 things I’m focusing on to feel stronger, healthier and more energised every day 👇

1️⃣ Set goals & intentions
I write down my goals every month and check in weekly. It keeps me focused, accountable, and moving forward — even when motivation dips.

2️⃣ Fuel your mind while you move
I listen to podcasts, affirmations or mindset activations on my walks. It’s such a simple way to strengthen both body and mind.

3️⃣ Strength train 3x per week
Three sessions is my sweet spot for building strength, keeping hormones balanced and feeling confident through midlife.

4️⃣ Progressive overload is key
You don’t need to crush yourself — just aim to improve. One more rep, a little more weight, better form. That’s how progress happens.

5️⃣ Optimise your protein
Protein is the foundation for muscle, recovery and hormone health. I aim for around 30g per meal to stay full, energised and strong.

6️⃣ Prioritise recovery & sleep
Rest isn’t lazy — it’s essential. Sleep, stretch, walk, unwind. Strength builds when you give your body time to recover.

7️⃣ Sign up for new challenges & events
Having something on the calendar — a race, fitness challenge or event — keeps me motivated, pushes me harder, and helps me grow in new ways.

Stronger isn’t just physical — it’s how you show up for yourself every single day.

Which do you need to give a little focus to?
